I'm a former U.S. Marine of nearly 12 years. During my travels while in the U.S. Marine Corps, I was
fortunate enough to explore the Caribbean, Latin and South America. One weekend in 1987, I had the
chance to go to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands on an eight seat prop plane from Fajardo, Puerto Rico β
what an amazing trip! Arriving in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, I was immediately amazed by 1) the
size (very small in those days); and 2) the overwhelmingly friendly atmosphere and colorful appearance.
My curiosity peaked, I grabbed the first cab I could find to give me a tour of the island. We drove for
a short period through the beautiful town and up this fare-sized mountain. The cabby pulled over and
said, "This is Mountain Top! Go over there (pointing) and look!" At that point looking down the
mountain side into Magen's Bay, I was officially in love with the Caribbean!!
From that point, I knew that the Caribbean and exotic destinations would be a part of my life! Having been
lucky enough to be one of the original Beach Bums, I have had the opportunity to travel extensively. I even
lived in the Caribbean for almost 3 years! What an amazing life to live! From Puerto Rico to the Virgin
Islands; Cuba, Panama, Columbia to the Hawaiian Islands; Jamaica and St. Maarten/St. Martin to Antigua,
St. Lucia, and Aruba; from Puerto Vallarta, Cabo, Riviera Maya/Cancun to Cozumel; stopping off in Las
Vegas, the Florida Keys and Bahamas; bouncing over to Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic, and the
Tahitian Islands (Bora Bora, Taha'a, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea); going overseas to Japan and Korea, I have
explored and discovered some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, seen some fantastic sites, met
some amazing people and experienced the world to its fullest!
I try to travel four or five times a year to ensure I am up to date on these destinations
(the tough part of the job). Not only so I know the right places to send you and help guide
you, but almost as important as knowing the destinations are the relationships we forge with
the resorts themselves. Knowing personally the management teams and staff is key in making
your dreams come true as well.
I have been honored to represent Beach Bum Vacation at several awards presentations as well.
I was also invited as one of only five agents in the world to attend the Grand Opening of
Sandals Grand Antigua in 2007! That was an amazing honor!
I love to travel to many different resorts each time I go away to ensure I see for my own
eyes and hear with my own ears what the resort looks like, the feel I get from the atmosphere
and above all the level of service they provide.
Sandals is a great choice for a honeymoon or vacation as they are the Ultra All-Inclusive and
couples only resort, BUT there are many other resorts we can explore in other destinations
that I would love to discuss with you!
We consider each and every one of you β not just a client β but part of the Beach Bum family!
