My family and I went to the Atlantis resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas in April 2009. My husband and I took our three kids, which are 12, 10, and 1. So we had our hands full, but Atlantis made it easy for us to have an amazing vacation. There was so much for our kids to do. There were many pools and slides for the older boys to play at and kiddie pools for the baby to play in. There was also a kids club called Club Rush for the older two boys to go to to hang out with other kids their age. We also went swimming with the dolphins, deep sea fishing, jet skiing, and shopping. My husband and I enjoyed the pools and the sun, but we also wanted a night out for ourself. So we got an Atlantis certified babysitter to come to the room for a night, while we had a romantic dinner and went to the casino. We had a wonderful time.
Words cannot explain how beautiful Atlantis is. There are fish and sharks and other sea life everywhere you look. It is like something you could never imagine. Also the food there was great. There was such a variety from a steakhouse, to Chinese, to Starbucks, and everything in between. It was a vacation that we will all remember, well maybe not the one year old, our whole lives.
There really is only one con to the whole vacation. The actual traveling time can be consuming and exhausting depending where you are departing from. You do have to go through customs and security a couple times, plus there is an approximately 45 minute shuttle ride from the airport to the hotel.
That is nothing, though, compared to the amazing trip we had. We could not have had that trip without our travel planner, Lisa Zwissler. We have booked with Lisa before, so we knew everything would be fine. She took care of all our travel needs, and she answered all questions that we had prior to our trip. She made sure our travel plans were taken care of and she got us a beautiful room with an amazing view of the whole resort.
